USACS Compliance Orientation Training: Physicians and APP’s 2021 - reaccred
USACS is dedicated to being the leader in integrated acute care by providing patients with the highest-quality services. In pursuing this mission, USACS expects all of its employees to "do the right thing the right way" by acting legally and ethically as they carry out their job duties. The Compliance and Ethics Department creates relevant, targeted training for employees to teach them how to identify and respond to key legal and ethical issues, as well as how to ask questions or raise concerns directly or via our Ethics Hotline.
Target Audience
All USACS new employees, including physians, advanced practice providers (APPs), executives, and support staff.
Learning Objectives
1. Describe the USACS Compliance Program
2. Define FRAUD, WASTE, and ABUSE
3. Discuss key laws that apply to these practices
4. Define and describe the federal EMTALA law as it applies to our practice
5. Define key terms that apply, including Medical Screening Exam (MSE), Emergency Medical Condition (EMC), and Qualified Medical Personnel (QMP)
